During Patrick Whitesell’s post-Oscars party, Paris Hilton and Rick Salomon were allegedly bragging about how they each made $1 million off the tape.
The Sex Tape As Publicity was pioneered by the innovative visionary, Pamela Anderson. The protocol is as follows:
1. Make sex tape
2. Sell sex tape
3. Buyer starts rumors that sex tape exists
4. Deny that sex tape exists
5. Buyer releases clips of sex tape
6. Say sex tape was stolen
7. Make a lot of noise about lawsuit to
prevent release of sext tape
8. Buyer releases sex tape
9. Everyone gets richer.
Well, except for Chyna, Jordan, Tonya Harding, Screech, Britney, Colin Farrell, and Kid Rock. You kinda need to be hot for it to work. Or at least cross racial boundaries (ref. Kim Kardashian).
