****: How young are you?
KELSEY: I’m 19. I’ve been in porn around nine months now.
****: I already know a little history on you… Family history.
KELSEY: Yeah. I come from a very religious family, actually. And they know what I do for a living.
****: Sounds like you were expecting those questions… Actually, I was referring to a certain member of your family. But I get the vibe you don’t want to talk about that any more.
KELSEY: No, I don’t! [Laughs] But my grandmother now knows what I do. She calls me every day to make sure I’m okay. She tells me that as long as I’m happy then she’s proud of me no matter what. My dad on the other hand, says he’s very disappointed in me, but still loves me. He watches porn. When I was younger I was always sneaking in the garage and looking through his PLAYBOYS. So I think it’s kind of his fault that I got interested.
****: How did you get started in porn?
KELSEY: I was found in Nashville Tennessee at Deja-Vu. A guy came in and said he saw my pictures on the internet. I had posted pictures saying that I wanted to do modeling and stuff. And so when he asked I said sure, why not. So me and my sister flew out to Vegas and did a little modeling. He then took me to see Jim South in L.A. who became my agent. I got started doing solo and girl/girl and now I’m doing boy/girl.
****: Are you under contract?
KELSEY: Not yet… Hopefully it will happen soon.
****: Anyone that you’d like to work with but haven’t yet?
KELSEY: I’m not really too picky about who I work with. As long as they’re not rough with me, I’m fine. I don’t do interracial or anal.
****: You don’t do anal?
KELSEY: No.
****: Never?
KELSEY: No. And I’m signing for Anabolic! [Laughs]
****: Didn’t you do a movie with a guy in a white cowboy hat?

****: Is there anybody you would never work with again?

****: What’s something most people wouldn’t expect about you?
KELSEY: I love horseback riding and going 4-wheeling! I’m a country girl at heart. I’m originally from Kentucky. I was also in the choir at my church and I went to a Christian Academy. Pentacostal, actually. I got paddled a lot! [Laughs]
****: Think that contributed to your interest in porn?
KELSEY: Yeah, probably! We had the little skirt and the button-up top and the tie and all that… I still have that outfit.

****: So would they lift your skirt-up to paddle you?

KELSEY: No! Actually I never have… I will pretty much just ask them what they like and what they don’t like. I’ll kind of flirt with them to make them feel more comfortable. And of course I’m gonna help them keep a hard-on!
****: Of course. Does anything really bother you about this industry?
KELSEY: There are times that I really get tired of it and think that I’m ready to quit, but then I think of it as just a job. Of course you’re gonna get tired of it and want to quit. It’s just like working at McDonald’s or something. You’re gonna get tired of flippin’ burgers!
****: Remember when we hung out at that one party? And you were all grumpy?
KELSEY: Oh! Was the Dark Angels party? I’m sorry… I had a headache that night and I was forced to go. I told everyone that I didn’t want to be there but they were all like “let’s go have fun!” I don’t drink and I don’t do any drugs. All the people I went with were trippin’ on E and I was just ready to go home.
****: You just kept grumbling about how you “put your time in” and wanted to leave.
KELSEY: I’m so sorry! [Laughs]
****: No worries. So what’s your ultimate goal in this industry?
KELSEY: To make a name for myself. I want to be able to come back to AVN next year and walk around and have people say “hey - that’s Kelsey Michaels!” and start naming-off my videos.
****: What are some of your favorites?
KELSEY: BARELY LEGAL #53. BRING UM YOUNG #19. LITTLE DARLINGS - which is a feature about me.

****: Were you a wild girl growing up?
KELSEY: Actually I was a really good girl! Surprisingly. I was the sweet little spoiled brat. My grandparents bought me everything. They pretty much raised me. Then when I turned 16, I found my dad’s porn. I ran away twice. I started dating and first had sex at 15. That’s what went wrong. My dad didn’t want me to see the guy anymore so I kept running away.
****: Who was the guy?
KELSEY: He was a guy in high school that I met. He was a senior. I was in 8th grade. We both ran track.
****: You have a thing for older guys?
KELSEY: Oh yeah… I always have. My boyfriend right now is four years older than me. Outside of porn, the wildest thing I’ve ever done is I have actually had a gangbang with all girls. ****: Would the people you went to high school with be surprised to learn that you’re in porn?
KELSEY: Actually I get emails and phone calls all the time. From the girls, I get emails that I’ve ‘always been a whore’ and they’re glad to get me out of Lincoln County. Then the guys are all like “Hey! You’re a porn star now! Do you remember fucking in my back seat?!” [Laughs] And my boyfriend reads it and is like “who the fuck is that?” But I don’t remember — there was too many! [Laughs] So the guys from high school love it. The girls — Some of them are really nice about it and they think it’s cool. But some of them are just jealous bitches and haters.
****: Are you on myspace?
KELSEY: Yes. Am I on your space?
****: I don’t think so… Do you want to be?
KELSEY: Yes, please.
****: What are the pros and cons of this business?
KELSEY: The pros are getting your name out there and becoming something you want to be. The cons are it’s really hard to have a relationship in this business. I mean, you’re having sex with other people. Sex is supposed to be something that’s intimate with you and your partner. But I believe there is a difference between ‘fucking’ and actually having sex.
****: Does your boyfriend agree?
KELSEY: My boyfriend is okay with it. He just doesn’t want to see me do a porn. That’s why he doesn’t ever come with me. He doesn’t want to be associated with it. He tells me “that’s your job… Just like if you worked at McDonald’s I wouldn’t come in every day and bother you.”
****: Makes sense.
KELSEY: I used to work at McDonald’s! Have you noticed I keep using that a lot? [Laughs]
****: I was just going to ask about that. I’m sure they’ll appreciate the association. Would you consider yourself an exhibitionist?
KELSEY: Huh? Okay… I’m from Kentucky. You just used a big word!
